An ecclesiastical round like no other has been fought out as Hujakate, Dunnngo and Mike Sheahan took on searing conditions and the Fist of God at Whittlesea this week.
Hujakate set the tone by presenting Dunnngo with his very own “Jesus shirt”, a wonderfully cool linen garment in a somewhat biblical sand colour.

Three abysmal drives started proceedings but it wasn’t long before Dunnngo, inspired by some other worldly force in his new attire, was flexing his muscles. After 7 holes he was sitting pretty on 32 and poised for a big round.
Sadly the divine inspiration left him, only to be taken up by Sheahan who suddenly found range with his short irons. A downhill putt at pro speed delivered a birdie and two pars followed, all in the space of four holes. But what of Hujakate?
Huja couldn’t win a kick in a street fight as he blundered from woe to woe, even finishing up in this sticky situation.

But in a “don’t try this with expensive clubs” moment, he superbly blasted his way out safely on to the fairway.

Eventually at the 14th, after playing up the wrong fairway, Huja did manage to record a tap in par. But after 15 holes he convinced a back crippled Sheahan to head straight to the 18th, much to Dunnngo’s chagrin.
The scores? Let’s just say that Mike Sheahan climbed off the foot of the leader board….
