COD 2013

COD 2013 was held on the Gold Coast at the Lakelands, Glades and Royal Pines Golf Clubs.  Indahouse reports:

G’day Codsters,

Well on a long weekend when the willing Codsters hit 3 of the best and toughest courses on the GoldCoast with Lakelands designed by J Nicklaus and Glades by G Norman and lastly Royal Pines where the Ladies Aust Masters is held each year. Weather a fine and beaut 25C all weekend and as gorgeous as some of the Broadbeach talent n amid fake nork spotting. The accommodation a bit more upmarket and not a sofa bed in sight. The usual cards and discussion of handicaps ensued on the Thursday night and Scarface took 24, Inda and Fabulous on 21 and Nifty on 9. The burglar took first day honours at Lakelands with a 88! Nifty and Phil just trailing on 90 n 91 and Inda raised the ton.

2nd day at Glades and fabulous thundering Tiger like drives, hit 91 again and Nev close by with a 92, leaving them level after 2 days and Scarface joined Inda in knocking up a ton. Last day at Royal Pines and perhaps the young Japanese golfing tourist took Phils eye and he turned 3 down and steady Nifty looking comfortable till a quad bogey on 16 gave a glimmer to Phil but a double bogey on 18 gave the green jacket for the fourth time by 4 shots to Nifty(93) after 3 consistent games in the low 90s. Inda hit 91, Tony 95 and Phil 97. Auld Mug was a close contest with Tony’s first day taking the beloved mug by 2 shots from Fabulous. Many thanks to Phil for providing a very good assortment of prizes and also in sneaking in a trip to the Bledisloe cup as well!

All courses had water, more water and bunkers aplenty and the chances of starting and ending the day with the same golf ball non existent.  Scarface won most birdies comp with 5 over 3 rounds, Phil 3, Nev 2 and Inda 1. NTPs were Phils domain with 6 over the 3 days, 2 to Nev and 1 to Inda, plus a few jackpots.
